Merse entertains crowd and boost Xpro's coffers

Xpro is celebrating following the success of its first independent event A night with Paul Merson and Friends at The Belfry which not only boosted the charity’s coffers but its profile too

Celebrities from the world of football joined corporate guests and genuine football fans to salute Merse and back Xpro in its work in looking after the footballers of yesterday

Thursday night’s event saw former England, Arsenal and Aston Villa midfielder Merse together with compere and TV personality Nick Hancock of They Think Its All Over fame entertain a full house at The Woodland Suite

The event was sponsored by Paul J Morgan Wealth Management and The Belfry with Cue Media and Prepared PR looking after the organisation on the night

Guests included Xpro Chairman Denis Smith, former Stoke City legend Terry Conroy,Wolves fitness coach Tony Daley and former Blues and Derby County ace Michael Johnson

An auction by former BBC commentator Hamilton Bland also saw guests digging deep to help the cause while resident Roy Smiljanic helped with the fund-raising by providing guests with the chance to have a signed photo with their hero

Xpro Chief Executive Geoff Scott said the night had been great fun and expressed his thanks for Merse for his support on the night

“I think I speak for everyone when I say how entertaining Merse was and I would like to thank him as well as our compere Nick and all our guests, friends and supporters for making it such a special night for Xpro

“In particular I would also like to thank The Belfry for having us and our event sponsor Paul Morgan for making the event possible
